March 19, 2024

Susan Ruth Winegar was born Dec. 2, 1955, and departed this earth and joined the arms of Jesus in her sleep on March 12, 2024, in Port Lavaca, Texas. She was preceded in death by parents, Allan and Lois Laudert; and brother, Michael Laudert. She is survived by her husband, Charles Winegar; daughters, Molly (Scott) Kober and Sarah (Alfred) Curtis; grandchildren, Aurora, Bruce and Violet; brothers, Allan (Laura) Laudert and Jonathan (Hope) Laudert; sisters, Sandy Hokanson, Virginia (Ralph) Carter, Roxanne (Russell) Sweeney, Barbara Roche and Nancy Blackwell; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Susan was a graduate of South High in Minneapolis. She followed her heart to Alaska and had two children there. She loved fishing, camping and met her husband Chuck in Alaska.

Returning to Minnesota, Chuck and Susan lived most of their years together, lakeside in St. Michael. Susan loved to collect antique glassware, travel, spend time outside and took many trips to Florida and other tropical destinations. Sue was known for her infectious smile and generosity. She would never hesitate to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. She was the definition of kindness and always treated everyone with love and respect. She was a beloved mother and grandmother and loved her dogs Rocky and Angel.

Upon retirement Susan and Chuck moved to Port Lavaca, Texas, in search of a warmer climate and beach life. She got to spend lots of time in the sun with her three precious grandchildren, whom she loved very much. Susan had the soul of a sunseeker, warming the hearts and lives of all that she met.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, June 8, 2024, at 12 p.m., led by Pastor Lowell Paul Laudert, 100 Clydesdale Trail, Medina, MN 55340, 612-799-5914.
