Delilah Mavis Maloney died Feb. 23, 2024, in Madelia at the age of 98. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 29, at Salem Lutheran Church in Madelia, with a visitation beginning one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Ridge Lawn Memorial Park in Truman.

Delilah was born on May 10, 1925, to Albert and Martha (Pick) Pahl. She grew up on a farm near Vernon Center. After graduating from high school, she worked various jobs in the area until she married Gordon Wiederhoeft in 1948. She then took an active role in farming alongside Gordon until his death. In 1969, she married James Maloney and they continued to farm together until they retired. For several years, she worked at St. James Elementary School in the library. She was an avid reader although challenged with macular degeneration. She was very grateful for the MN Services for the Blind, which allowed her access to an enlarged reader, books on tape and other services for the visually impaired. Her faith was her anchor throughout her life.

Delilah is survived by her daughter, Diane (Alan) Brudelie; son, Dale (Cindy) Wiederhoeft; grandchildren, Ryan (Julie) Brudelie, Brent (Susan) Wiederhoeft, Patrick Wiederhoeft, Aaron (Molly) Brudelie, Marc Wiederhoeft, Darin (RaeAnn) Wiederhoeft and Emma Wiederhoeft; granddaughter-in-law, Dawn Wiederhoeft; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands; grandson, Shawn; and her siblings.
