Sandra Marie Williams of Renville went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2024, at the age of 84 years, three months and 15 days. A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 9, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Renville. Pastor Keith Petersen officiated. Burial will be at a later date in St. James Cemetery near Northrop. Visitation was Monday from 5-7 p.m. and continued on Tuesday one hour prior to the service, all at the church in Renville. Sandra Marie (Kahler) Williams was born Sept. 18, 1939, in St. Paul, to Richard Ferdinand and Laura Lydia (Hartmann) Kahler. She was baptized at Jehovah Lutheran Church in St. Paul. At a young age, her family moved to a farm southeast of Truman where she was raised with her two younger brothers, Wayne and Warren. She graduated from Truman High School in 1957.

Sandra married Dean Kenneth Williams on Dec. 28, 1958, at St. James Lutheran Church in Northrop. They lived in Truman and Luverne before moving to Renville in 1964, where Dean operated the Renville Locker Plant. They raised four children, Dean Jr., Denise, Daniel and Dwight.

Sandra worked as an Avon representative, served as the site manager for Senior Nutrition and worked for over 25 years at Renville Health Services Nursing Home. She volunteered at St. John’s Lutheran Church, including helping to start the Dorcas Society and serving as a Sunday school teacher. She enjoyed sitting in the sun by the lake, gardening and cooking delicious meals for family get-togethers.

Sandra is survived by her husband, Dean Sr.; children, Dean Jr. (Brenda) Williams of Pequot Lakes, Denise (Steve) Fitch of Starbuck, Daniel (Stacey) Williams of North Mankato and Dwight (Melissa) Williams of Olivia; grandchildren, Nicole, Kimberly (Sheridan), Jennifer (Emory), Steven, Matthew, Amanda (James), Cherish, Jadde, Tabitha, Jessica, Valerie, RJ and Isaac; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and brothers, Wayne and Warren. Sandra was preceded in death by her parents; daughter-in-law, Lori Williams; and son-in-law, Steven (Butch) Becker.
