Saundra “Sandy” Roberts
A memorial service for Saundra “Sandy” ReNae Roberts, 74, of Granada was held Wednesday morning, Dec. 13, at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Fairmont. A private family burial will be held in Nashville Township Cemetery near Truman. Sandy passed away Monday, Dec. 4, 2023, at the Mayo Clinic Health System-Methodist Campus in Rochester. Saundra “Sandy” ReNae (Villeneuve) Roberts was born on Oct. 26, 1949, in Worthington, the daughter of Francis and Beverly (Brow) Villeneuve. She attended school in Albert Lea and graduated from Albert Lea High School.
On Nov. 26, 1977, she married Darwin Roberts at Grace Lutheran Church in Fairmont.
Sandy worked for the Fairmont telephone company, was the manager of the Fairmont mall and worked at the St. Luke’s Nursing Home in Blue Earth until her retirement.
Sandy was a gentle wife, kind and loving mother, and was a wonderful daughter, sister and grandmother. She lived her life with a steadfast faith in her Lord Jesus Christ and had confidence knowing her salvation was secure.
Sandy enjoyed gardening, canning, planting flowers and reading. She also loved her four children unconditionally. They were her everything!
She will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched, from her warm smile to her loving words.
Sandy is survived by her husband, Darwin; son, Shane (Teresa) Roberts of Winnebago; three daughters, Shasity Roberts of Lake City, Shannon (Stevie) Biorn of Wanamingo and Tiffany Roberts of Granada; five grandchildren, Cody, Justin, Elizabeth, Jacob and Mitch; five great-grandchildren, Braxton, Bentley, Jaxton, Kyzer, and Genesis; mother, Beverly Villeneuve of Fairmont; two brothers, Cary (Chelaine) Villeneuve of Fairmont and Todd (Denise) Villeneuve of Rochester; sister, Heidi (Jeff) Schlomann of Fairmont; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Sandy is preceded in death by her father, Francis “Frank” Villeneuve, and a good friend, Delight Kennedy Shell.
