Independent School District #458 Board Meeting

October 16, 2023 5:30 PM

I. Call to Order:5:33

Roll Call: Present — Mike Pfeil, Kenna Krahmer, Maria Haler and Paula Heckman; Absent — James Farnum and Jeff Nauman

Staff Present: Lisa Shellum, Sarah Chambers, and Eva Sonnabend.

II. Approval of Agenda:

Motioned by Heckman, and seconded by Krahmer, to approve/amend the October 16, 2023 Board Agenda. Motion passed on a 4-0 vote.

III. Approval of Prior Meeting Minutes:

Motioned by Krahmer, and seconded by Haler, to approve the September 18, 2023 and September 25th board workshop regular meeting minutes. Motion passed on a 4-0 vote.

IV. Presentation of Bills/Finance (consent agenda)

Motioned by Haler, and seconded by Heckman, to approve the October 2023 bills as presented in check register and wire transfer information. Motion passed on a 4-0 vote.

VII. Action Items

A. Assurance of Compliance

A motion was offered by Heckman, seconded by Krahmer, to approve the Assurance of Compliance. Motion passed on a 4-0 vote.

B. Minnesota State High School League Form A Grant

A motion was offered by Heckman, second by Haler, to approve Minnesota State High School League Form A grant. Motion passed on a 4-0 vote with Pfeil, Heckman, Krahmer, and Haler voting in favor and none voting against.

C. Hiring

A motion was offered by Heckman, second by Krahmer, to approve hiring Shandon O’Brien -Step 5 .5 paraprofessional on the non-certified schedule. Motion passed on a 4-0 vote.
