William “Bill” Joseph Trebesch, 65, of Truman, passed away on Oct. 30, 2023, due to complications of heart failure. Funeral services were held on Tuesday morning, Nov. 7, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Truman. A time for visitation was held on Monday evening at Zaharia Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at church. Burial will take place at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at a later date. Web tributes may be left at www.zahariafamilyfuneral.com.

Bill was born on May 21, 1958, in Redwood Falls, the fourth of 12 children, to Delmer and Bonnie (Kopischke) Trebesch. He was baptized June 22, 1958, in Clements and confirmed in May of 1972 in Sanborn. He attended grade school in Sanborn before moving to the Arlington area. Bill graduated from AGI in 1976. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, serving from 1976–1981. On Oct. 20, 1981, Bill married Connie Riebe. The couple would later separate, but of this union came three children, Melissa, Samantha and Lucas. In September 2004, Bill went on a blind date with Janell Halverson, who would become the love of his life. They were instantly a match, as if it was meant to be. The two married on Sept. 12, 2009.

Over his lifetime, Bill worked various jobs, including Trebesch Construction, nurse’s aide in Waconia, and Dahl Trucking, where he worked until his health declined in 2013. Bill enjoyed deer hunting, dirt biking in his younger years, cruising around town on the golf cart with Janell and his grandkids, the demo derby, casinos and going on scenic drives in the country. Bill was curious and mischievous with a big imagination and always a jokester. He loved his friends and to be social, always shooting the breeze. Most of all, he loved his family and spending time with his grandkids. He will be missed.
