Gerald Seeman
October 27, 2026
Gerald “Jerry” Dennis Seeman, beloved husband, father and friend, left this world on Oct. 23, 2026, at the age of 82. Born on July 24, 1944, to Lawrence and Lydia (Bergemann), he lived a life full of love, commitment and rich experiences that touched everyone around him.
Jerry was proudly baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Lewisville, where his deep faith flourished throughout his life. After graduating from Truman High School, he answered the call to serve his country in the Army, receiving an honorable discharge in 1966. He returned home to take over the family farm, where he built a life filled with joy, hard work and cherished family memories.
On Aug. 31, 1968, he married Dorene Eickhoff at Zion Lutheran Church, beginning a beautiful partnership that would span 58 remarkable years. Together, they raised four wonderful sons on their family farm, where countless hours were spent working side by side and cheering them on at various sporting events. Jerry’s dedication to his family was evident through his role as a Little League coach for 14 years, nurturing not just athletes, but a love for teamwork and sportsmanship.
Jerry’s passions extended beyond the farm to outdoor adventures, including fishing, hunting and supporting his favorite teams — the Minnesota Vikings and the Twins — as well as watching NASCAR races. He cherished family trips and enjoyed traveling with friends, all while finding time to give back to his community. He was a devoted member of his church, where he actively participated in many church activities and held various positions, including on the cemetery board. His commitment to service was also evident through his proud membership in the American Legion and the drill squad.
Jerry continued to work in the agricultural industry with TFE and WFS after retiring from farming in 1996 due to health reasons. His legacy of hard work and dedication to family and community will forever inspire those who knew him.
He leaves behind devoted wife, Dorene; four sons, Troy (Rhonda Motzko) of Prior Lake, Todd (Becky) of Lakeville, Terry (Lisa) of Minneapolis and Travis of Savage; grandchildren, Allison (Josh) Thaemlitz, Cole Seeman (Kendall Hedberg), Halle Seeman, Zach Seeman, Jacob Seeman, Ben Seeman, Ellie Seeman and Ashley King; great-grandchildren, Jennings and Bowen Thaemlitz and Briar Seeman; sister, Margie (Bob) Gaul; nieces, Pam (Wayde) Sward and Carleen (Tim) Doering; and extended family and close friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents and niece, Kimberly.
A public visitation will be held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Truman on Oct. 30, starting at 9 a.m., followed by a funeral service celebrating Gerald’s life at 11 a.m. He will be laid to rest at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Lewisville. Online condolences can be left and a livestream of the service can be viewed at www.zahariafamilyfuneral.com.
