Rosalie Heckman

Rosalie Kay (Grant) Heckman, 83, of Truman, passed away Wednesday June 28, 2023, at MCHS Mankato Hospital. Visitation will be Friday, July 7, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church in Truman. The memorial service will follow at 1 p.m. Burial will be at Westford Cemetery.

Rosalie was born in Truman on Dec. 16, 1939, to Harry Herbert Grant and Violet Alice (Harris) Grant. Rosalie attended Truman Public School in Truman through the 11th grade. On Jan. 22, 1956, Rosalie was united in marriage to the love of her life, Duane Heckman, at the Community Baptist Church in Truman. Together, they were blessed with five boys.

Rosalie was a homemaker and a busy stay-at-home mom. She held various part-time jobs throughout the years and was active in the community with the Truman Jaycees, women’s bowling league and as den mother for Cub Scouts. Rosalie enjoyed playing cards with friends, doing crossword puzzles, playing her hand-held Solitaire and Yahtzee games and watching Westerns and murder mysteries on TV.

Left to cherish her memory are her beloved sons, Mark of Truman, Brian of Truman, Roger of Blue Earth and Michael (Paula) of Truman; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Shirley, of Los Angeles; five nieces and nephews; and friends.

She is preceded in death by her true love, Duane; parents; parents-in-law; son, Steven; sister, Beverly Reutzel; and brother-in-law, Robert Heckman.
