Independent School District #458 Board Meeting
September 15, 2025 5:30 PM
I. Call to Order: 5:31 PM
Roll Call: Present — Mike Pfeil, Kenna Krahmer, Maria Haler and Aaron Brudelie
Absent — Paula Heckman and James Farnum
Staff present: Lisa Shellum and Eva Sonnabend.
II. Approval of Agenda:
Motioned by Krahmer, and seconded by Brudelie, to approve/amend the September 15, 2025 Board Agenda. Motion passed on a 4-0 vote.
III. Approval of Prior Meeting Minutes:
Motioned by Krahmer, and seconded by Haler, to approve the August 18, 2025 regular meeting minutes. Motion passed on a 4-0 vote.
IV. Presentation of Bills/Finance (consent agenda)
Motioned by Brudelie, and seconded by Haler, to approve the September 2025 bills as presented in check register and wire transfer information. Motion passed on a 4-0 vote.
V. Committees: 
A. Buildings and Grounds - Update on project. Building tour after meeting.
B. Sports Committee - Sound System.
VI. Information Items
A. Explanation of Levy information 
B. Snow removal bid request
C. Homecoming week events and updates
D. Posters and STEAM Camp project poster
E. Online enrollment update
F. Update on paint grant
VII. Action Items
A. Levy Certification
A motion was offered by Haler, seconded by Brudelie, and carried to approve and certify the proposed 2025-26 Payable Levy at Maximum. Motion passed on a 4-0 vote.
B. Truth in Taxation
A motion was offered by Brudelie, seconded by Krahmer, and carried to set the following date for the 2025-26 payable levy Truth in Taxation meeting date for December 15, 2026 at 6:01 PM. Motion passed on a 4-0 vote.
C. IOWA
A motion was offered by Krahmer, seconded by Brudelie, and carried to approve Lisa Shellum as the IOWA for ISD 0458 for the 2025-26 school year. Motion passed on a 4-0 vote.
D. Combined Polling Place
A motion was offered by Brudelie, seconded by Krahmer, and carried to approve the resolution to set the Truman Public School as the combined polling place for any upcoming elections in calendar year 2026. Motion passed on a 4-0 vote with Haler, Krahmer, Brudelie and Pfeil voting in favor and none voting against. 
E. Hiring
A motion was offered by Krahmer, seconded by Brudelie, and carried to approve the hiring of Joni Sandwick as paraprofessional. Motion passed on a 4-0 vote.
