On June 25, 1955, Del married Phyllis Bowers of Truman and they moved to Fairmont, where he began insurance training at Security Insurance Agency and started a family. He was sent to Travelers Insurance Company Home Office School in Hartford, Conn., for months of training and was transferred to Luverne Bank Agency upon his return in 1956.
