Independent School District #458 Board Meeting
 April 21, 2025 5:30 PM
I. Call to Order: 5:32 PM
Roll Call: Present —  Mike Pfeil, Kenna Krahmer, Maria Haler and Paula Heckman
Absent — James Farnum and Aaron Brudelie
Staff present: Lisa Shellum, Cairne Eytcheson, Jena Culhane, Emily Stevensen, and Eva Sonnabend.
II. Approval of Agenda:
Motioned by Krahmer, and seconded by Heckman, to approve/amend the April 21, 2025 Board Agenda. Motion passed on a 4-0 vote.
III. Approval of Prior Meeting Minutes:
Motioned by Haler, and seconded by Heckman, to approve the March 17, 2025 regular minutes. Motion passed on a 4-0 vote.
IV. Presentation of Bills/Finance (consent agenda)
Motioned by Krahmer, and seconded by Haler, to approve the April 2025 bills as presented in check register and wire transfer information. Motion passed on a 4-0 vote.
V. Committees: 
A. Community Education
B. Buildings and Grounds - updated information on fire suppression/alarm project.
C. Sports Committee - updated sports agreement in action
VI. Information Items
A. Spring Fling May 7, 2025 - Spring Concert / Book Fair / Art Show
B. Kindergarten Round-up held on April 8th and Preschool Screening held on April 9
C. MCA testing began the week of April 14th going through May 9th
D. Prom May 10, 2025
E. Graduation May 23, 2025 7:00 PM
F. Senior Class trip information May 14-15, 2025
G. Strike Out Cancer event May 13, 2025
H. Paint the Town grant

VII. Action Items
A. Hirings
A motion was offered by Heckman, seconded by Krahmer, to approve the hiring of Erik Olson as K-12 Special Education teacher at MA7 $54,000.00 and Christine Sheets as K-12 Special Education Teacher at MA15 $62,000.00. Motion passed on a 4-0 vote.
B. Sports Pairing Agreement
A motion was offered by Haler, seconded by Heckman, to approve the 2025-2026 Sports Pairing Agreement with GHEC and Martin Luther. Motion passed on a 4-0 vote.
