Independent School District #458 Board Meeting
March 17, 2025 5:30 PM
I. Call to Order: 5:36
Roll Call: Present — Mike Pfeil, Kenna Krahmer, Paula Heckman and James Farnum
Absent — Maria Haler and_Aaron Brudelie
Staff Present: Lisa Shellum, Tiffany Gamache, and Eva Sonnabend.
II. Approval of Agenda:
Motioned by Farnum, and seconded by Krahmer, to approve/amend the March 17, 2025 Board Agenda. Motion passed on a 4-0 vote.
III. Approval of Prior Meeting Minutes:
Motioned by Krahmer, and seconded by Farnum, to approve the February 18, 2025 regular minutes. Motion passed on a 4-0 vote.
IV. Presentation of Bills/Finance (consent agenda)
Motioned by Farnum, and seconded by Krahmer, to approve the March 2025 bills as presented in check register and wire transfer information. Motion passed on a 4-0 vote.
V. Committees:
A. Buildings and Grounds - update on SitelogiQ project, and Activity room flooring.
B. Sports Committee - winter coaches evaluations to be done, participation numbers, summer meeting to be scheduled, and pairing agreement.
C. Community Education Advisory Committee - update on class offerings and ideas.
VI. Information Items
A. Spring Fling May 7, 2025 - Spring Concert / Book Fair / Art Show
B. Kindergarten Round-up being held on April 8th and Preschool Screening on April 9th.
C. MCA testing begins the week of April 14th through May 9th
D. ADSIS Intervention Program Application
E. South Central Service Cooperative Board Elections
F. FY2026 Formula Allowance
G. Senior Class trip
H. May 13 will be the Strike Out Cancer games vs. Madelia
VII. Action Items
A. Integration Budget 2025-2026
A motion was offered by Heckman, seconded by Farnum, to approve the Integration budget for 2025-2026. Motion passed on a 4-0 vote.
B. Spring Coaches
A motion was offered by Heckman, seconded by Krahmer, to approve the list of spring coaching assignments as presented for the spring 2025 sports with GHEC and Martin Luther. Motion passed on a 4-0 vote.
C. Sports Pairing Agreement
A motion was offered by Heckman, seconded by Farnum, to table the 2025-2026 Sports Pairing Agreement with GHEC and Martin Luther. Motion to table passed on a 4-0 vote.
D. Environmental Consultant Agreement - Tim Harbo
A motion was offered by Heckman, seconded by Farnum, to accept the contract for Environmental Consulting from Tim Harbo for the 2025-2026 to 2027-2028 school years. Motion passed on a 4-0 vote.
VIII. Reports
A. Superintendent/Principal: E-rate information.
IX. Adjournment
Motioned by Krahmer, and seconded by Heckman, to adjourn at 6:29 PM. Motion passed on a 4-0 vote.
